The Panama City Beach Community Redevelopment Agency was formed to improve pedestrian, parking and transportation networks and facilities and to improve the overall aesthetics of Panama City Beach, Florida. Projected Construction Start Dates

  • Churchwell Drive- Completed Spring 08

  • Beckrich Road- Under Construction



Current Projects

  • Front Beach Road preliminary design completed including transit concept

  • Streetscape guidelines completed

  • Beckrich Road - construction documents 95% complete

  • Alf Coleman Road, North and South Thomas loop with Front Beach Road - construction documents in preparation

  • Churchwell Drive construction documents completed

  • Clara, Hill and Powell Adams roadways - preliminary design underway

  • Front Beach Road final design and construction phasing currently under development


Objectives
  • Improvements to pedestrian, parking and transportation networks and facilities

  • Enhance beach access and related parking

  • Create efficient, practical and equitable funding and financing to properly implement the Plan

  • Address aesthetic and planning elements to enhance overall urban form of community

  • Encourage private/public partnerships

  • Identify and implement programs and projects

  • Develop and implement programs to encourage economic development and revitalization


Program History

  • City Council initiated a study that indicated transportation blight
  • 2001 - Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Area was created and validated

  • The City Council, sitting as Ex-Officio Governing body, directs all redevelopment efforts

  • Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Area does not include the Pier Park Community Redevelopment Area
