The Restaurant POS Technician and Trainer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth setup of our Point of Sale (POS) systems within a restaurant environment. This position combines technical expertise with training skills to support staff in effectively utilizing our POS systems for efficient setup and training. The individual will be responsible for setting up, troubleshooting technical issues, providing technical support and conducting staff training sessions to optimize the POS usage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain POS hardware and software components.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as updates and backups to ensure system integrity.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues promptly, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions effectively.
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical support and escalate issues as necessary.

Staff Training and Development

  • Develop training materials and manuals tailored to the restaurant’s POS system.
  • Conduct training sessions for existing staff on POS system functionalities, best practices, and procedures.
  • When necessary, provide ongoing support and coaching to staff to improve their proficiency in using the POS system.

System Integration and Upgrades

  • Evaluate new POS system features and functionalities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to restaurant operations.
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams or external vendors to integrate POS systems with other restaurant technologies such as inventory management or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in POS system management and technical support, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
