Panama City Beach and Panama City, September 8-14, 2024:
As a Rotary International initiative, during the week of September 8-14th, 2024, Rotary clubs around the world will partner with Kiwanis, Lions and Optimist Clubs on service projects related to health and wellness, food insecurity and hunger, education and literacy, and the environment.
The Panama City Beach Rotary Club is spearheading a partnership and joint community service project with the Beach Optimist Club as well as the Panama City Lions Club to recognize this international effort to “Celebrate Community Week”! This three-club partnership includes a multi-phase project benefitting the Panama City Rescue Mission as well as assisting the Panama City Beach Police Department with their Holiday Family Food Drive. The three clubs will collaborate and work together over the next few weeks gathering requested items for distribution to these two organizations. The clubs plan to extend the collection of necessary food items for the Holiday Family Food Drive through November!
This Community Project is a collaboration of efforts and awareness to give a hand up to help the citizens of Panama City and Panama City Beach with food insecurities.
Members of the PCB Rotary Club, Optimist Club and Lions Club will meet at the Rescue Mission a specific date during the Celebrate Community Week (Sept 8-14th) to deliver a multitude of much needed cleaning supplies and work side-by- side to assemble and distribute food bags for the homeless population served.
